my problem wasnt that the content he made was bad or that he needed more money to make the style of content he wanted to even if i didn't think the animations were necessary at all
and disregarding the bts shit as well
it was that the way he talked was like he deserved all of it
just way too much ego behind a statement like that
he was the one who refused to take sponsors or other things that couldve helped him
if there was a small advertisement at the start of urealms i wouldn't have given a fuck and it would've helped him

it was cute and added charm when the donation events had animations but when the entire show started to become semi animated i was like why not just restart the old urealms style animation then
probably cheaper and more high value narratively and audience wise
watching that whole dragon animation with no voice acting whatsoever just personally i just thought why wouldnt i just go watch like an actual anime right now
and this animation and things like it were the thing that basically bankrupted urealms so i was just like well that was dumb
tl;dr it was sad to see a show i loved basically get gutted because the creator was stressing about money partially due to the ridiculous animations that basically added nothing to the story (which is what almost everyone watches d&d for)
