I like the simplified rolling and system of no stats, and treating everything like a one shot, with a rouge like random shop.it made meta gaming harder and made characters much more unique
but I disagree with some decision like damage always being in 5, 10, and 15 in season 3 instead of some stuff doing 2 and 3 dmg, double damages were everywhere but no simple modifiers
A +1 or 2 to an attack damage isn’t a lot of math and I think he’s refusal for additives leads to less fun game design.
He wanted everything simple but then he also added stuff that was not simple at all and when it inconvenienced him personally he would just remove it.
I prefer season 2 for his game design but with season 3 inventory and that’s the direction I’m going for realm reforged
Running a buisness is like Guude's video collection. Sometimes you have the mature 12 year old that can handle the stress and run things properly, and other times it is the 6 month old who is acting on pure instanct and when something happens just deletes everything

agreed, I think his modified rules more broadly are what I like, he overdesigned S3/S4 for the "show" too much, and made it sorta non-funcitonal as a game system if you didn't modify some things
