I know in an old tuna bandits episode Rob told some guy he ran into he lived in Kitchener
Him and Krysta moved from Buffalo ---> Toronto in 2009/2010
And I only remember that because I lived in Kitchener so Rob saying that stuck out to me in the mind palace
and Kitchener is just a Toronto suburb tbh, since they moved apartments every ~2 years it wouldn't surprise me if he lived there for a bit

There are different cities next to Toronto which I would call a Toronto suburb, but thats because those cities only exist because people could not find a plce to live in Toronto
so they exist as commuter cities
I would count Missasuga, Oshuwa, etc since they are directly connected to Toronto

Does the US have no major cities where there is another major city within an hour of it, and if no, do you consider those cities suburbs of eachother
we have those, and it's actually really easy
we combine the two
so you're in the Dallas-FortWorth (DFW) market
We combine cities if they are literally touching and merging, if there is an hour gap between them, thats insane
we call kitchener waterloo kitchener-waterloo (sometimes the tri-cities if you want to include cambridge)

so considering kitchener a suburb of toronto seems insane, because then every city is a suburb of another city

Kitchener is huge by Canadian standards, Toronto is just also abnormally huge also by Canadian standards
I think kitchener is consistantly in the top 10 of city growth in Canada year over year

I'm never going to hold "being an asshole" against anymore, for the most part he's the same he's always been
I agree with Pika he's dialed the drugs waaaayyyy back if not completely
2 months of forced rehab might have helped him get clean
he stopped taking his meds mind you
but stopping the hard drugs likely helped
I think part of the way his mental breakdown works though is if he has an army of people egging it on, that also makes it way worse
he purged almost all the insane people from his community
So all the weird "I am bungender refer to me as bun" and "I am scared of bathing so I have not bathed in 6 months" people are gone

I wrote this out in vetting chat a couple times
but Rob's struggle his entire life doing projects online has been the personal-professional boundaries
all the way back to his first project with Johnny
he couldn't co-mingle being friends with someone, and having them be a part of his projects
The only relationship like that he did not nuke was Roamin
that's part of the reason so many people dislike Rob, because he was this hyper charismatic person that from their perspective froze them out suddenly one day, and they felt used
where from Rob's perspective, that was inevitable because of the dynamic of working together
who as far as we are aware, is still friends with him
and yeah, I think some people are generally easier to stay on good terms with, and Rob-Roamin def seem to have
Though they did kinda both go their own way in life
Roamin not being a professional youtuber/content person is probably why
Deadbones could have lasted if he did not feel like Rob fucked him over at the end of Urealms live
Good to hear he's on the mend(?). I knew he pissed some people off by his apology videos, and nuking his content, but I wasn't aware of who, how, or why, because of the nuking of his content.

he was having a mental breakdown, and rather from emerging from it with a little humility, he doubled down on the direction

this was 2019, right after the cancelation of S4 and all the drama on-stream
and then he had another breakdown in 2022, which led to him being comitted
and again emerged with zero humility, doubled down, and blew his life up again
I think you can cope with things going wrong in your life that way... ig
but I don't think it's conducive to mending relationships with others
and that's kinda been the trend his entire life, forge ahead and rebuild rather than looking back and trying to fix things
I was a very casual fan. I think I somehow managed to miss each of these things just by changing interests lol. I didn't watch the last urealms lives, found him again in his GTA rp content, and stopped watching that before it all fell apart, apparently. I honestly didn't know he had any breakdowns, let alone 2.
I think it's good that Rob's mostly off the internet now, I don't think he was ever going to conquer his deamons related to internet content creation, and was likely just going to end up spiraling again in a couple years
