Replying to Spooky Phijkchu #spooky.131 This is going to make it a lot harder to play devils' advocate for Guude
I have been thinking for awhile that there were no "Good Guys" or good side of that split, and that maybe it was a bunch of weird dudes in their late 20s and 30s trying to peddle their minor success for profit to their largely child/teenage audiences.
I think Rob's mostly come to terms with it now, but for a long time he lk resented the success of those around him
And I somewhat grant Rob that, it's weirdly tragic how out of his entire cohort of Newgrounds creators and devs; many of which Rob mentored or helped out, that he was the least successful, despite arguably doing everything "right" but at the wrong times
his entire career was failing 50-50 dice rolls, and achieving modest success when it (probably) should have been much greater
Listen, if only two player blew up like gamegrumps
and that's a big part of what fueled his mania and eventual breakdown

regardless of guude being a wife beater or not, if we're talking mindcrack split, and rob split from guude/mindcrack, then guude was not in the wrong in those instances imo

In no way am I defending Rob mind you, just that I understand part of his frustration, seeing all of his fellow early creators make millions and live these (seemingly) ideal lives while Rob was grinding for 10+ years

I was top 10 on the leaderboard for Camelot at launch for the first month or so
I think Golden Monocle was Rob's most complete game from a design perspective
shame that he had the big GM map and just never published the revival because of timing
I think most of the weapons were actually fairly balanced
