Hey all. I am (was?) an old old Rob fan back from Jimmy the Mage, Newgrounds, Escapist era all the way up to end-of-URLive. I really enjoyed his work and it was cool to both have my name in a Pokemon Rob run (Morgan the cactus thing) and to even be on some 2013-era Christmas-ish stream with Gaary, Shay, Roamin and Tom. After URLive ended and Rob started to get real weird with GTA RP I dropped off and never came back. I saw the Guude rant yesterday and wound up here following it through. All I can say is "yikes"

After he flew up to help Rob record his Kickstarter video, he stayed with Rob for like a week or so

They got into a dispute about money that Rob had lent to Tom for something in the past, and Tom got pretty annoyed because he had taken a week or two off work to come help Rob earn 200k doing his Kickstarter

They had a kinda frosty relationship for a month or so after that, and neither made an effort to reconcile

Eventually Deadbones just kind of replaced him on stream, and he eventually got Nisovin to help him with more tech stuff that Tom used to do

Tom still streams occasionally, I think he's married now, still working with his dad and chilling is my impression

Because imo, his issue is he's very up front with people about what he is like, but people look past that warning because he's charismatic af

Rob cannot maintain a personal and professional relationship with a person concurrently

That is the core of all of the claims of him being an asshole or a "bad person"

The second issue, is drug use exacerbating some latent mental illnesses he had

And the further along he got, the more his mental shit wrecked his life

And everyone around him just enabled him, or fed into it

Rob is burnt the fuck out now, he is not the same person, he is maybe 10% as funny or talented on a good day, he's wrecked his life and threw away a career and community that people would have killed for

I think Rob's overall trajectory has been tragic in the classical sense of the word

honestly, yeah he's been having pretty bad computer issues for a couple months

had to drop his stream quality quite a few times, and I think this is the same rig that used to struggle running modern games above medium/high at 1080p

i've had everything lock up because windows 11 has memory leaks

this is probably worse though

still, funny excuse to cancel a stream over at the 11th hour

yeah Leg, I had someone tell me they liked win 11 a bit on release (I also played around with the pre-release build and only had a couple things I hated)

but it seems like over time the stability of the OS has gotten worse, and updates breaking user-end changes will never not annoy me into just disabling updates altogether
