Why is Rob privating his video

Doesn’t his old video still make him money

Rob doesn't like how the old videos represent his modern self. So he is trying to sell the nostalgia of the old videos to his old fans.

He is not privating them, he did private them. The are several complicated answers to this. 1. Rob was very mentally unwell at the time. Due to drug use and mental health issues, Rob was making a lot of bad choices. He has always struggled with people poking him with negative comments to a degree, but because of his mental state at the time, even positive comments that were not the right positive comments were throwing him into a fit where he would write a massive essay in response. 2. Rob wanted to rebrand. Rob hated that his old videos were compared against his new stuff and people were (rightly) coming to the conclusion that he is a lot less funny now than he was before. Rob gave up on being funny to tell meta narratives, but it is not compelling, so old fans did not follow him to his newer content. 3. The wholesome scam. Rob intended to sell the videos back to old fans via the youtube member system where you can lock videos behind being a youtube member (for 5 dollars a month). This was his idea to monitize old fans who otherwise do not care about his new streams and thus did not bring him money. Spooky's site undercut this idea so we do not know how many people he would have gotten to pay him in a perfect system, but he ended up getting abysmally low numbers (not worth the effort of uploading the old videos one by one like he had to) so he has given up on the reuploading aspect of this.
