Rob's old whales are getting depressed, because there are 2 new whales who are making them look bad
this was another whale war week, Rob earned a lot, ~$1,500

they hit the $1000 goal to do a DvZ match, but then they hit the next goal to not do DvZ, and send Rob to bed early
but because he cared so much ,he said he'd go work on LoM2
it was actually in chunks, 400, 100, and 99
because Rob puts on a mouse hat for every $100 donation, and then gets sad and asks for donations under $100, hence 99
the way the donations come in is so inorganic, and has been for a while
the old whales (samfire, xantenex, sugarmangowhore, etc.) used to sit in Discord, and Rob/Dani would tell them when it was time to donate
because if they all did at once, the thought was that it would encourage others to donate, kinda like a hyptetrain
but the new whales don't participate in that, so Rob has to interact with them via the stream, which makes the old whales feel left out
I talked to Samfire about it
he told me that being a "pillar" of Rob's community was the most important thing to him
said it earned him respect, helped him make friends, and he was proud of it

was if Rob encourages the following behavior, or if it's natural
I've noticed that the whales are praised a lot by the chat/community
very similarly to how Rob used to have his community ingratiate streamers back when he was doing his Twitch harem
but I can't recall Rob ever doing it himself (beyond the normal streamer shoutouts)

what led me to talk to samfire
were the YT comments on the first couple DvZ streams
that were YT exclusive
recall urealms live and all the named whales
as I was working on my scraping script
I saw so many fucking comments, asking when his next big dono was going to be, and complimenting him etc. etc.
oh, and talking about how people saw him in the game
now I didn't watch the streams, so idk if it was more a factor of Rob calling him out in-game or what
because this was before they all became "pillars"
but it struck me as really weird
I mean, you already know the mentality of these people who do this
they literally need to do it to feel like they are apart of the in group
