deadlantis is the only S3 campaign I would call good though

Yeah, Coestar really didn't shine in the second half.
Feels like he was barely there.
Campaign 1 was just ruined by the end where Rob snubbed Roamins strategies that he even rolled a 10 for
and made it do way less than it should have
campaign 3 was the worst pre death of urealms live Rob content I had ever seen
It was mostly just voting and presenting random laws
I don't remember campaign 4, and I never watched 5+ because Rob sent me that reddit dm telling me to "get lost due" so I just stopped watching him
Something I'm realizing to this day of my writing is how much URealms class design has rubbed off on me
So dunceparse, it was because Rob is stupid
Replying to sudo TPK #sylfar I was salty about Rob nixing Justin's divine decision choice for ages. I know Justin wasn't supposed to vote because he had a ton more voting power than anyone else, but Rob was the one who gave his account all that voting power. What's the point of that except to cheat the system? (edited)
It was a "cast and crew aren't supposed to vote at all" thing
Which I can agree with
the point was because he wanted to not code a new thing, the special staff thing was tied to being level 1 million
Especially for the first one ever
or whatever
and yeah
so he just gave justin a ton of xp
because they're bad at coding
0 would not work since all new accounts would be staff
negative might work if it was using signed integers, no idea if it was though
I think reversing it was the right call
People would be shitty to this day if a cast member won the first DD and call them rigged
it HAD to be someone truly random for people to buy into it
I think the second DD should have been "Do we accept justins choice or redo the vote"
as a bit
would have been funny
lmao

As someone who just started making his own TTRPG modeled off of Season 2 of URealms, I getcha

Protip: Don't. 👌
YOU ARE AN OLD GOD
BORN BEFORE THIS REALM WAS EVEN CREATED
YOU WILL CONTROL THE FABRIC OF THIS REALM FOR BUT A BRIEF MOMENT
CHOOSE CAREFULLY:
Do I pay Justin the same as the rest of the cast?- 😆 3
Even after I knew Rob hated me I still entered all the DD events in the odd chance I won and he'd see my name pop up
didn't even watch the campaigns
anyways what really murdered URealms was it's scope creep and the real honest belief he had that it would be easier to get people to watch 10 minute fully animated campaign summaries rather then tell people they can read a wiki
Also Rob getting intro drugs
A wiki that was eons behind the actual show

Empo, I remember seeing this on Twitter, way before you joined
I genuinely believe Nader's would have completely crashed and burned if it actually got made
And I still fuck the name up for your thing constantly
And call it novarealms
I originally ran a living world for a while, wanted to make my own system with that too, just recently left that server a couple of days ago

If you look at the trajectory of the Escapist Unforgotten Realms(even before they stopped paying him), the trajectory of Unforgotten Quest(just because his wife left him didn't mean he had to scrap the proejct to rebuild it in a different engine twice), etc., this happened with ALL his projects over a period of 15 years.
100%, he could have gotten something out for UQuest, even if he scaled the scope back
and while people would have been disapointed, it would have been better than not saying anything for many years, then offering to pay people back after enough time had passed that most people would have forgotten
(then never finishing to do that)
That was a scummy move,
yeah
Like
He could have just had a failed Kickstarter
Plenty of people have recovered from that without murdering their psyche by needing to lay it back
The oldest "someone in PHIJKCHU was mad at Rob" thing I remember, was talking to Phijkchu_Latios on steam about how he hated Rob because of UQuest and could not support him
Did he get into any legal drama with that?
he had no obligation to make the game
He genuinely tried with UQuest
And I don't hold that against him... Imo it feels silly to
I hold the way he acted after it failed against him
it failing, no, thats fine, shit happens
Idk what he was supposed to do, after the 4th attempt to reboot it with a different team
His final UQuest vid was fine
It looked like he was doubling his efforts in trying to pay people back, but I guess as the URealms money well dried up he didn't have the funds to continue

I kinda got knots in my stomach when I looked back at the Kickstarter and saw just how fucking cucked the fanbase was, with SO MANY people saying they didn't care about refunds or that they didn't want him to try to continue the game or that they didn't want him to finish Unforgotten Realms when he put that as an option, that they supported him as a person and they were just like TAKE MY HUNDREDS OF DOLLARS FOR NOTHING, and these comments all being years before his "people > content" arc
the kickstarter was never really for the game
it was for Rob
most people donating donated because it was Rob
The Kickstarter was to fund 2 years of Rob+Krysta working on the game
Krysta was his wife I'm assuming? What was her role going to be in the game design
She was the previous Megan
live in artist
Ah so it's a cycle of dating artists
