Iirc, one of the main issues is that it’s such a small thing comparatively that it doesn’t justify the legal costs
it's sad that she's still so hung up on the old cat, probably were ways she could have resolved last year, but after so long probably just had to move on
If she didn't take rob to court over it then, there is no way she is getting it back now (not that she would have necessarily won the court battle then either)
I mean she would and prolly still does have a case of mental issues causing a bad environment for the cat since it’s not a service animal

I don't think this was some trap by Rob or anything
but Megan left in a hurry because of the cat assurances, which meant she overlooked a lot of stuff
if she had a more methodical move out, and didn't just leave, she would probably have the cat

It was more "I am going to make your life miserable until you leave"
she was living with Alice in the area at the time, and would go to the apartment for ~1 hour at a time to box her stuff up over the course of weeks
on one occasion Rob pushed her down and hurt her, but most of the time I think Rob just left while she was over
my read, was that towards the end of the process, when Megan had a lot of stuff boxed up but not everything, he gave her the "I'll sign this if you get out rn and you can have the cat"
I was thinking he gave an empty threat of “be out of my apartment by this date or I’ll call the cops for trespassing” or something to that effect

he could not legally just kick her out

local PD will be happy to help too, that's the kind of mediation/dispute management they're kind of built for
no one realistically brings break-ups to court, cops will usually adjudicate on the scene over small things
(perk of being a woman, you get what you want 99% of the time too)
the week after moving out, when she realized Rob was stonewalling her with the cat, and blocked her everywhere (remember, she was in his Discord during the breakup because it was amicable-ish at first)
she could have gone to the local police, said "my boyfriend and I broke up and I have in-writing that he allowed me to keep my cat" He's since cut communication and is not allowing me to come by to pick up the cat and 1 remaining box of my belongings
and she'd have the cat in 30 minutes or less

Yeah and then they'd tell Rob when he argued that he'd have to go to court over it, which would never happen
so she'd also keep the cat
The fact none of her friends/family helped her out with this is kind of appalling

If Megan is as autistic as we assume, I can see her 100% believe Rob at face value when he promised her the cat, then she had no idea what to do when that did not happen because it was not somethings she could even consider

the second she got pushed around by Rob, she should have called someone
she's an adult and all, but clearly was in over her head at that point
It’s hard not to be when Rob is involved tbf, he’s too much of a wild card factor
she lived with him for 8 year or w/e, I can get letting your guard down and still trusting him
esp since it didn't seem like the most hostile of breakups at the time
he dumped her, but probably seemed composed enough to be trusted
She witnessed firsthand the abuse and manipulation of the urealms cast so “blinded by love” or whatever but that can only get you so far ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
