Permitting he's working with a psychologist & psychiatrist, if he really was in the hospital for mental health issues and is on psychiatric medication now, it's hard to speculate where it goes from here, since his go-to for the past ten years was "go deeper under, never take a breath".

i highly doubt it. youre underestimating how hard it is to get a job

Yeah, even a minimum wage job at McDonalds or Walmart will have issues with him if he stays like he is. He'll either need to get his shit together somewhat, sacrifice any semblance of pride he maintains(which he seems to have a huge issue with forsaking pride) to work a job that would be considered demeaning to even a wage slave at Walmart, or see if he can file for disability, which I have no idea how disability for mental health issues works in Canada.

Based off my room mates experiences getting any sort of mental health stuff covered in Canada is difficult without good workplace insurance, so I imagine disability pay is even harder to get for someone able bodied.
