most people do not live on campus

we had a pub
it closed down because it went under

since apparently you don't even have a normal meal plan
residences might have dining hall for people who live there
none for general students
I don't think I've ever seen a college do food like UW, other than really small schools
that don't have the resources to run a dining facility

so I don't know how shit they are
they are the opposite way from the plaza where sane people go to get food
I pay like 15 bucks and I get a nice angus burger and some fries and a drink
and if you want food, the math building has a general store
I just go there to buy my chocolate milks
so what most American universities do, is all food within walking distance of campus, 1-2 blocks in all directions, is school owned or partnered
when I want one of those

so everything is part of the same dining charter
the on-on campus stuff is partnered
hence why we have 4 tim hortons
even normal restaurants like Tim Hortons or Chick fil A
I miss the pub, not like I drank when I went there but it was a place to get a meal between lectures with the lads
but it was so in the red that they just took it out back and shot it
American schools have really been focusing on their food, so it's gotten pretty good no matter where you go
but again, it's just getting people to rack up their debt
because they're essentially eating out 2-3 times per day
welp, enjoy $8M of our tax dollars
why would you ever pay 8k to live on campus when you could get a 1 bedroom for 800 a month
