Replying to Spooky Phijkchu #spooky.131
My dad used to read Dilbert and had those desk calendars, but Legposting was the only actual exposure I got to reading them
i got into it through my dad too, but i only read that much back then because i was so bored at work

My personal take is trump wants to go down as "histories greatest president ever" and he views conquest as an objective point modifier for something that makes him a great president, so he wants to expand the US empire

The actual reason is for Arctic control, and sort of reversing course of the last 50 years where we don't own our overseas military bases Greenland does have lots of mineral wealth too, but that's more an argument for why they may want to join the US rather than why we want them.

I want Greenland, but it's because I think consolidating and protecting our (cultural) brethren matters, this extends beyond Greenland and I'd probably draw a larger circle than most people, but we'd have to make good on the integration/investment and statehood side of things, which we're historically bad at

While I'd like us to just annex them, if I were to place odds, we'll probably see a sweetheart deal similar to the Compact of Friendship we have with a bunch of Pacific islands Where Greenland will become a pseudo protectorate and get a ton of perks but retain "independence"
Dane politics
I saw that the NSN got disbanded due to the laws. Makes me wonder what all the members will do now, I cant imagine they'll just lie down and surrender
