Replying to Kribbles #kribbles1 Mistborn is definitely what got me into his writing style, I really enjoy it. The Stormlight Archive is a tall ask to get into, so much of the epic fantasy shit that's irritating like all these proper nouns and countries with their own politics and so on. For Mistborn, I like that it's just 1 town, 1 story.
Yeah I started one chapter with nobles gossiping and they mentioned like 10 different names I was unfamiliar with and I had to stop for a second to process it all
Replying to Polar_ #polar_ Sanderson adds maps to the first few pages of his books and I greatly appreciate that, but yea having narrative jump between like 4-5 characters PoV every chapter can be a lot.
Yeah, I just do not recommend the Stormlight Archive for an introduction to fantasy books, there's just so much going on! I personally enjoy it but, like, Mistborn is a solid fantasy series that is simple.
Clearly we should make an entire channel for book discussions so that Rusp can discuss his one book
