yeah it was over a youtube feud, it was like a 50k youtuber killed by a 5k iirc
that's a brutal execution
also ngl, I think the video is kinda wholesome if you look at it the right way
People aren't freaking out and running around, they're calmly going about their night
definition of a high trust society
I think that is perhaps one of the most spooky things to say about a guy and his wife being shot and killed

No idea if it's posturing or not, but the US and Israel have both signaled unilateral strikes on Iran
Spooky puts the odds at 30% they happen tonight, 70% we get some frantic negotiations and Trump tweets about his victorious 2-hour phone call tonight
if we do go to war with Iran for Israel, it'll be interesting if all the domestic funding for these Mexico protests immediately stop
Don’t internet creators that are “relevant,” now already being phased out? And that most of them are not that technical and interested in the internet anyway
I agree on that 2nd part, most YouTubers & streamers are not really interested in entering politics
and the ones that are, should be kept far the fuck away from this non-profit

Also, the "solution" to everyone complaining about out-of-touch politicians is not to become a lobbyist
write draft bills and get them to a committee
if you can write ONE SINGLE GOOD BILL, you will have 1000x the influence you would have being an outside lobbyist
But, it is funny thinking of Matpat being on the stand at some random House hearing

Yea I agree, I think more so my point was that the people who are the larger content creators or have the larger influence have no clue themselves about the internet or how it works as they are just “playing the game,” as their job making content. Not really people who would know a lot about laws or know about making a law. Seriously I think you could take the top ten and none would be able to tell you how a bill is made/passed.

Look at any school district and their budget report, most even have a dedicated section on school lunches because so many people are on “free and reduced,” (which isn’t reduced they get same amount as someone who pays). Also the number of schools who provide dinner and breakfast is staggering. Mainly cities
Last I looked at the city I live in they were about 50/50 on people who pay and those on free and reduced. Because one parent can make $0 a year and the other can make $100,000 and be eligible I believe. Because they use the income for the parent who makes $0
