It is clear the US governemnt is kind of just firing at the hip without super logical planning and just doing whatever they want

hence why half of the actions taken kind of contradict the other half sometimes

but I agree, what the fuck was the point of any of this
Trump is he's doing exactly what the majority of his base wanted, and isn't avoiding any 3rd rails
but what I'll give him shit for is that everything has been simplified and streamlined far too much
he's won, he doesn't have to keep selling
he can have reciprocal tariffs be more complex than just x*1/2
and target specific sectors
Targetting specific sectors would make sense, I feel like oversimplification makes the tarrif war thing retarded

the simplification works if you stick with it, but that coupled with 3-4 flase starts
makes it seem unserious
if the Tariffs don't have their desired effect they'll be removed by Trump in 12 months
let alone 3.5 years

I think tariffs in general are a good solution to a lot of things
income tax isn't one of them, that's never going away
I think he should remove income tax fully, but only once you hit a 1 million a year threshold (removing it for income before 1 million as well once you hit that, it is a shutoff switch)
you have to pay higher taxes until you hit that
but yeah, disappointed he gave into the pressure and removed tariffs for now
and I ttotally see this as something that's going to be forgotten about as he pivots to just having a dick measuring contest with China again for no reason
