I've learned from Canada recently (well Pika really) people get obsessed with tiny islands
and uh, I kind of think Greenland will want to become a state
50k people is small, but they'd only get 1 senator until they get over 100k
it's been in the past Leg
it's not a number, it's a ratio of their population fo the average state pop or smt, idr
but if you go back far enough, they phase senators in, and there's been weird cases were certain states were stuck on 1 for a while
and yeah, add ALL the states

how many do we turn Canada into
I feel like we merge Nova Scotia with all the other Maratimes
so merge the 4 Atlantic ones, and keep Halifax as the capital
merge the 3 arctic ones, and Yellowknife can stay the capital
then it's 7 states, or 8 if you include Quebec
and rename one of them to be Trump coded

the US (for whatever reason) is really good at balancing to 50-50
I think Canada is less left-leaning than they come across, in a system with actual choice
when you give people only two flavors of the same non-choices for decades, that's all they know
Where did you hear that more Canadians are supportive
that's true, but depending how many senate seats you give them by subdividing the country
that's the long-term balance that I sitll think will eventually balance out to 50-50
I personally have literally the exact opposite experience both personally with every single person I know and what I've seen

Regardless, there are things like healthcare most Canadians would not conceed on, and the US would absolutely not let us keep our healthcare being covered by taxes
I think if the US was more willing to offer concesions, the % would go up, but I still think Americans are overestimating how many Canadians are agaist the idea

I feel like that's how you get US democrats on board, say we're allowing Canada to keep their healthcare system
and they'll think it'll help convince more Americans to support single payer
