Libs did
so the libs got a boost in the pollls, because most Canadians are annoyed at it

I think its more the "here is a 40% increase in money for no reason"
I think if you asked a lot of Americans if their entire net worth would just magically go up 40%, but your state is no longer apart of the US, you'd get a decent chunk of young people, who are the most likely to care about a bunch of free money, who also would vote for it
free money is a powerful motivator

that's interesting, backs up the overall sentiment I observe (even though I trust polls fuck all)
my 40% number was just from open census/college data + some Spooky math trying to deduplicate it
so this tracks with that as well
it's the same reason young people in Europe want to stay in the Eurozone/Schengen
even though opinions on the EU overall are mixed
There's just no reason why you'd want to arbitrarily restrict yourself to Canada when the amount of choice and opportunity open up so drastically when you have access to America as well. Even if you like where you were raised in the provinces or end up sticking it out in Vancouver/Halifax/Toronto or wherever
It makes minimal sense to have borders between the US/Canada, but when you drill into what a realistic balance between the states and provinces would be, it really only makes sense in the context of integration/annexation, because you can't decouple the two really
Quebec is the odd one, because they can't be decoupled yet are culturally non-homogenous with the rest of N.America
but, given the choice between straight independence and a Texas like arrangement, I think the later is probably more stable long-term, even if the Greater US isn't going to continue to placate them with French language concessions that Canada is currently subject to
this being 50-50 is really comforting
half of your country isn't retarded Pika
yeah it really is boomers holding you back
and if it ends up being a $1.00 CAD ---> $1.40 USD swap, that would be such a massive economic incentive
especially after any future economic downturn
Did everyone see the democratic congresswomen smash dance btw? Didn't see it posted above in my quick glance through https://youtu.be/QVb2qPF8tHE

yeah, grown in brazil
It is just a spite thing
which I think we should keep doing
Honestly, looking into it, libs possibly picked the best guy to replace tredeau they had
thought it was the one guy who had strong ties to trudeau, instead it was the other guy who was partly responsible for Canada not having a reccesion in 2008
Also he's already promised to do several of the things on the con's platform like eliminating Trudeau's Carbon tax (for consumers)
because they went with this guy instead of the corrupt guy everyone assumed it'd be, I am curious how the election goes now
If he actually does shit for the ~ 5 months he has, libs could actually narrowly win I think
Our really left part is the NDP, and they have tanked their reputation as much as Trudeau did his
I think our current guy is more left is a US democrat sense, he was a banker so he's actually probably more center left than left left
Honestly, if he wants to win (it will never happen), restart the corruption probe into the last governments actions
Trudeau and his party did a lot of outright illegal things to their own financial benefit (part of why people were fed up with him)
I mean, he won't defect to the conservative party
I still find it funny that trump is costing the cons the election because the cons keep fucking up and not being as hardline against being annexed as the libs are being
Replying to Phijkchu_Pikachu #klombak I mean, he won't defect to the conservative party
I bet everyone would have said that about RFK a couple years ago
Replying to legorhin #jazardly I bet everyone would have said that about RFK a couple years ago
US politics =/= Canadian politics
I bet you a kirby game comes out within 30 years way before the now current PM swaps parties
I do not think he would because he kind of needs the liberal party to have his back, and that would be friendly fire on a lot of them
