People are going through past ATC recordings for Reagan National
it turns out
there are military helicopter near-misses multiple times per-month
and pilots have submitted formal complaints
a prevailing sentiment is, the airmen have been playing a game of chicken sort of, seeing which flight team can get closest to inbound jets
which will be interesting if it turns out to be true
