I don't care if they want to work on campus jobs at like, an on campus coffee shop

whatever, do that
have a 2nd tier of work-allowable student visas, quota per-school
they should not be able to work 3 jobs and just skip classes
to use for grad research and athletes
It is going to be interesting to see if literally anything happens when the current goverment loses in a landslide this election
I do not think so, because the Cons are just as corrupt
but I would be interested to see if literally anything came of this
idk, I think the housing crisis in Canada is actually bad enough that something has to change
Something has to give, I agree
immigration is also wildly unpopular everywhere rn
I think current polling is something like 65% of Canadians are against immigration now
we were discussing in VC last night, it's hillarious just how much everyone hates Indians
which is crazy to consider, since we are Canada
they have obliterated their global image
over the last 5-10 years
Chinese at least do subterfuge and are sneaky about it, Indian's are proud to scam systems put in place in high-trust societies
because it is their culture
all the other low-tier countries like the Philippines, Pakistan, and Nigeria
have all moved a tier up, while India is on the bottom all alone
There was huge anger here because Indians on social media kept posting about how you can just go to a food bank and get free food, so they would all just do that
Donating to the food bank has always been a big thing in Canada, as a means of supporting those less fortunate
Indians have eroded that because they just take whatever free shit they can get
Food banks are a big Christian thing
very big in the US too
Its not a relgious thing here though, it was just a cultural thing that people did
its run by the government
it's a Christian culture thing*
Sure, but its not run by religious groups is my point
yeah, same here
it is one of those "the church used to do this, but now it is just an adopted practice"
I think the only religious group that does major food kitchen stuff is the sikhs here
I think you understate just how Christian the idea of charity is, and alien it is outside of Christian countries
Asia especially, it's just not a thing
Probably true, since I grew up in a post hyper religious secular society which just adopted the good parts of that
so I just view it as a thing people do
Regardless, I think the trajectory is huge housing market collapse for Canada
there is no way we are not heading there
Pika, I hope this ends with you owning your own Candian mansion
Especially since we did not have a collapose in 2008 like you guys did
and a huge plantation
Canada explicitly bragged about how in 2008 our housing market survived
I just want to not have to pay 1800 a month in rent for my 1 bedroom
oh Pika, are you going to be in VC later
I can be, why
actually, I guess I can jsut ask you now
did you watch any of that Candians video
the UW grad
who had the graph to explain why he was single
Oh sorry, I clicked it and watched him pull up his degree and laughed, then forgot
been pretty sick these past few days
yeah, nbd
I think I said, it's retardedly long
but I couldn't get over that he had the full meme degree
UW, Software Engineering
and turned out like this
Its funny because software engineering is the stuck up pretentious engineering degree at UW
Replying to Phijkchu_Pikachu #klombak Its funny because software engineering is the stuck up pretentious engineering degree at UW
yup
and Canadians kick themselves for not being "good enough" for UW, Software Engineering
it's weird how ubiquitous that is too, the 2-3 non-Phijkchu Canadians I talked with college about in the past, all brought it up
UW is arguably the best school in Canada to go to for CS, and one of the top for engineering
And its pretty highly regarded for math and physics
Softer sciences and humanities it is a meme school, and it does not have a law school so it is not rated as high as schools like UofT in international rankings
these are all the comments too
from other UW grads
Most of them go to Cali
The UW to US silicon valley pipeline is a big meme
that is where they all try to go
Most of the competent ones*
Canadian companies pay way less for tech stuff
oh also Pika, I always get this confused
I think he lives literally down the street from you in Kitchner
in one of the apartment buildings that's getting torn down to build migrant Indian housing
Do you have an address?
