Dane, I am a centrist (the kind that thinks both sides are usually full of shit)
I am also an atheist
so I am both!
Spooky, you should unironically use your glowie connections to propose the polution machine to trump
I think during his twitter shitpost arc, he'd go for it
Pika, if I wrote an official looking proposal and passed it to Drone Girl
I bet I could get it seen
I really thing Trump outlining the polution machine would be funny as shit
I doubt it would get to Trump directly,
but it's a funny enough idea, that I think it would get some mention
from Trump Jr or someone one-rung down from Trump
Elon replies to it saying "thats interesting"
that is what you get

Bernie Sanders (@SenSanders) on X
Democrats and Republicans spent months negotiating a bipartisan agreement to fund our government. The richest man on Earth, President Elon Musk, doesn’t like it. Will Republicans kiss the ring? Billionaires must not be allowed to run our government.
twitter.comHe's right which is the funny part
they wrote a *bipartisan* agreement to fuck us
and Musk + about 20 non-shit senators stopped it
I disagree with a lot of the hate against it, Vivek especially makes it sound worse than it is
they restricted congress' ability to put pork in legislation more than a decade ago, with one exception
the yearly omnibus spending bill
so you read the big spenidng bill this year, and it's all the same crap as usual
studies on iguana mating, special benches for some local school, money for corn farmers to burn their crops
but, (like every year) it's slightly higher than the previous year of waste
so it sets new records for US debt increases
and our yearly deficit is still growing
Leg, that part is easily defensible imo
it just sets them at the max locality pay for gov workers in DC
it should be tiered, but for w/e reason they all need to make the same
committee chairs or tenured roles should pay extra
but in general, they're raising it to low 200s
which is fine in this area
I meant appointed roles, like whip or speaker or w/e
but yeah, i ngernal I wish their was tiering, so they would start as an executive I on the pay scale
and could eventually become Executive III or w/e
Replying to legorhin #jazardly it keeps the plebians poor
if they improved the economy for low and middle class people and worked on reducing the debt, wouldn't they make more tax money for themselves? idk if saying they want people to be poor is right, unless i just dont have the right mindset
flat rates for 600+ people seems dumb
Dialga, imo there's very little the federal government (in this case congress) can do to foster economic growth
most of that comes from the state government
federal government is choosing what to spend federal tax dollars on, most of which is not going to spur on economic growth
military spending technically encourages buying from weapons manufacturers etc.
and I guess I should be somewhat charitable, there is money going to people in ways that increases their purchasing power, food stamps etc.
but very little is long term growth stuff
most of that is state-level
the government actually does do a lot, but it's state/local programs that spur growth
the biggest thing the federal government has done recently is the Chips act, building that one TSMC fab near you ironically Dialga
yeah
If tariffs go into place, a lot of states will have to begin working harder to do just that
