I had excellent meetings with Senators yesterday. I appreciate their thoughtful feedback - and the incredible support of so many. While the momentum was strong, it is clear that my confirmation was unfairly becoming a distraction to the critical work of the Trump/Vance

After the recount, Incumbent Republican Lucas Lanigan is officially the winner in HD141, defeating Democrat Patricia Kidder by just 1 vote 🟥Lanigan: 2,478 (50.01%) 🟦Kidder: 2,477 (49.99%) #mepolitics
twitter.comok, the round-by round recount numbers don't exactly breed confidence in Americans ability to count
it began as a 2,476-2,476 tie
and then each subsequent round both numbers varied by ±10
they did 10 recounts, this was the 10th and final
it's not that large of a number either
<5,000 votes total in the district
idk what you do, I think we just can't count
oh, ok someone explained it in more detail
it's one "recount" process, which involves 10 individual recounts of the ballots
so the 10 different numbers were not seperate rounds, they were the individual tallies the recounters came to
and then they picked the most common number (mode)
Dialga, this is America
don't ask for too much
oh, Leg
I think you'll appreciate this
there's no procedure they have to follow, so all of the 10 recounters have their own process
so some might group, some might tally, some might just start counting sequentially
