they are the supply chain
intel is scrambling to make fab shops so we are not 100% dependant on them
but that costs trillions and will take years
The entire supply chain, as explained to me by Spooky, is taiwan, I think they go to the US, and the Netherlands makes a specific component
iirc
If China is taking Tiwan, they will scortched earth the factories which will set the world back probably 10 years on computing manufacturing
But it is better than China having 100% control over all technology

twitter.comChina is utterly dependent on the Taiwan chips as well, even though they have stopped getting most of their chips from them, most advanced tech requires the Taiwanese chips. Look at the phones the Chinese companies make and they are only as advanced as the iPhone 8? The chips are also just recycled or stockpiles from earlier purchased products. The thought of china going into Taiwan and blowing it up would hurt china more so because then no one in the world is able to produce the chips they themselves need. China wants the technical know how, the economic power, and the factories to reproduce the chips for themselves.

Agreed, but we weren't saying China would blow it up. Pika was saying if China ever attempted to pull a Ukraine on Taiwan then the occupied Americans would go full scorched earth on the factories to prevent China from having the chips.
Nah, china would fall on the beach and even if they got to a city they would have to blow it up in order to maintain control. Americans wouldn’t need to touch the factories themselves, if they are so inclined to try and takeover without destruction; rather have them do the deed themselves than haunt us later.

DOGE will soon begin crowdsourcing examples of government waste, fraud, & and abuse. Americans voted for drastic government reform & they deserve to be part of fixing it.

I mean, senate pro temp and the VP don't really do anything
I wonder if senators like Vance or not
they are, but pro temp and VP are both essentially ceremonial "leadership" positions
vance can break ties if he needs to, but that probably won't happen much
that was before political parties
after that though, you had majority/minority leaders
I think most legislatures around the world function about the same, in terms of having a few ceremonial roles
but the power being the agreed upon leadership
which; because of how the game works, means he can call for a rollcall vote
and basically nothing else
if he wants, he can choose not to designate that power, but that just means nothing will get done
would be interesting if he gets really into being at Senate meetings
I don't really know much about Vance, other than the couple things he did once the election started
I found this funny
I knew this was a thing, but I like how well documented it is
