You don't make conspiracy theories involving hurricanes? The American government could have easily stopped 9-11 if they hadn't redirected a hurricane that was on its way to flattern New York City (in September of that year).
If they had simply let that hurricane take its natural course, there wouldn't be any buildings for planes to fly into.
weather autism related, the amount we do control the weather is pretty staggering, basic things like cloud seeding, water colation, or electrostatic discharging storms, 99% of the population doesn't know it's commonplace
there's an international agreement to not use weather manipulation it as an act of war, after the US used it in Vietnam to gain tactical advantages for their operations
we have the power to stop or seed hurricanes, but it goes back to the conspiracy theory limitations, on if any reasonabble number of people are involved, it'll just get leaked
iirc, the reason they don't stop all hurricanes, are they serve a large ecological process and you need a certain number of big storms every year

the last couple huricanes to hit florida have ended up doing fuck all, even the strong ones, I think because of how much of the state are wetlands that can absorb the rainfall easier
Because each state is different, idk how fucked some of these procedures are
