I think deep down we just really want slaves still, and illegal Mexicans are the most-legal way to achieve that
for what? they're both net drains on everything
but we don't seem to care about that stat either
I didn't know if you meant something specific to compare them with
neither are necessary, but you can't logistically (or politically) get rid of them
so you give them government hand outs to sit still and shut up and vaguely participate in society sometimes
In reality they just keep to their own little insular communities
and other than being a financial burden (which is not unique to them) I don't really think it affects peoples actual lives
if one day we decided we wanted to shore up our economy and audit all the money pits in the US, then I think you could look at demographic groups who are just black holes of resource waste
but we don't seem interested in doing that, so society mostly just self-segregates
and we ignore that 20-30% of our fake and gay economy is handed out to those on the dole
if you close your eyes when you see one, it's like they're not even there!
true isolation
Replying to Spooky Phijkchu #spooky.131 and other than being a financial burden (which is not unique to them) I don't really think it affects peoples actual lives
i think theyre technically a finanical benefit
I think they're a macroeconomic negative, and a microeconomic boon for businesses

this
if you zoom in, people LOVE slaves
it doesn't matter to normal people, which is why people don't care about fixing it
if you want to be mad about random problems, you'll notice the country is full of a million different problems to care about
pick your favorite pet problems and live mad
