we have a special license we give to illegal immigrants

I think our rationale is that we don't just want our slave labour force to leave and go to Maryland
because in Virginia at least we need them to work on our farms for free and build fences for boomers

we deport spies, but not Mexicans/Salvidorians

we really do just use them as slave labor, which is why I think people don't really care

if you're hispanic you are 99% certain to be illegal
there are 3x as many black people in Virginia than there are Mexicans apparently
and Asians are 2x

If we ever bothered to actually close our border, I think I'd be more in favor of deporting people
it just seems pointless if they just come right back in
I think deep down we just really want slaves still, and illegal Mexicans are the most-legal way to achieve that
for what? they're both net drains on everything

I didn't know if you meant something specific to compare them with
neither are necessary, but you can't logistically (or politically) get rid of them
so you give them government hand outs to sit still and shut up and vaguely participate in society sometimes
