I think any prison sentence greater than 10 years is on-par with death
and I think in a lot of cases, monetary dmg assessments can stand-in for prison
"oh hey, you caused $1M of dmg to something, you now have all future earning garnished by 20%" (until you pay some multiple of it back)

I saw a Shortfilm about that recently lol. The problem I have with that though is that watching someone thats been mutilated tends to make people sympathize and feel bad for them. You want these criminals to be gone and to show others that theres a real consequence to the crime. Just fucking kill em and hang them from some public space
