BREAKING: The U.S. government is suing Adobe. It's accusing the company of harming consumers by enrolling them in the most expensive subscription plans without clearly disclosing the huge early termination fees — fees that can reach hundreds of dollars.
fxtwitter.comI think the only adobe product I use is acrobat just to esign documents
I keep saying i'll download all adobe stuff just to have but never do
the interesting thing about when the US government opens a suit like this, they aren't going to settle, and they usually warn adobe months in advance to negotiate pre-emptively
My dad started talking to me about adobe literally yesterday
so they had ample warning this was coming, and think they'll prevail ig?
I hope they get more than just a slap on the wrist, they’re really shitty ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
it's uncapped, but the fine will probably be 3x revenue made from subscriptions since this was implemented
well, probably limited to revenue from non-commercial customers
which is still probably a huge number
so I'll guess it comes out to a $10B fine
Since general chat is occupied
Rekieta got convicted on 4 traffic violation things
so, I'm going to assume the way that works is that he didn't pre-pay the ticket prior to the court date (you shouldn't) so after the court date you then pay it
I assume so
I also assume thats June 4th and not April 6th
for the date the offense was commited
no, it's April
that's about the right time
2-3 months
Oh you're right
the other dates are MM/DD/YYYY

Michael Brown should be celebrating his 28th birthday today—but police violence stole him from us. I'm proud to partner with his mom, Lezley McSpadden, on our Helping Families Heal Act, which will provide mental health services to families in the aftermath of police brutality.

No AC but the ‘greenest’ ever Games? Inside Paris’ landmark Olympic...
With no AC in the athletes’ accommodation, air filters lining the streets and beds made from cardboard, could this be the most sustainable Games yet?
www.cnn.comFrance made a big deal about not including air conditioning for the olympics to make a statement about global warming
so the US and Canada have said they're bringing their own AC units and will install them and the necessary generators
and France isn't too happy
Officials aim to keep the rooms at between 73 to 79 degrees Fahrenheit, and will also provide fans.sleeping in an 80F (27C) bedroom sounds miserable
Hidalgo, who is against countries bringing their own units, stressed earlier this year that Paris organizers would not change course.
“I think we have to trust science on two counts,” she said. “The first is what scientists are telling us about the fact that we are on the brink of a precipice. Everyone, including the athletes, must be aware of this. And secondly, we have to trust the scientists when they help us to construct buildings in a sober way that allows us to make do without air conditioning.”Also this is their mascot Phryge
I agree global warming is a thing
I also believe that it is laughable to try and force normal people to give a shit when the main culprites do not give a shit
ban private jets and audit factories if you care so much
You know what uses a lot of energy and is not needed 99% of the time? Huge office buildings
but we can't not have those, real estate needs their money
invest in technology and aim to teraform the earth however you want
that's the solution
