I had no idea that 5% of all deaths in Quebec were assisted suicide
and that's probably going to 8-10% after they expand the program
that just seems wild to me
even if it's just all people 50 and older
actually, I'm sure the stats are available somewhere
94.5% of MAID cases occurred at age 56 and older
in 2020
so it'll probably come down a bit once they open it up
but majority above 50 sounds about what I'd expect
from the video, it's dedicated to a 37 year old who "did their part"

the current expansion is to all adults 18+ for any reason
and the expansion after that is for children 0-18 months, at the request of their parents
I think that one will require provable disabilities though
