but I'm not super optimistic

Which as we all know, is the most important part of a fire emblem game

I mean, nobody likes the characters or story as far as I can tell. People usually sell it on its gameplay.

Engage's story is one of the worst FE stories

Okay, so I am going to rate it below 3H while conceeding it is probably a better game when I play it then

MC is below average, other characters are decent

I actually think the Engage story is a bit overhated though. It's not good, but it's very children's cartoon-esque, which if you can get that feeling going in, it's not as bad.

I mostly care about if I like the characters in these games

I mean, ig I can't compare it to every FE game, since I've not played all of them

I will put up with mediocre or subpar stories if the game has good characters

Glasses girls should not be killed, they should face misfortune though

It's crazy how they can go from three fairly even protagonist choices in 3H to that, assuming that is actually the route choice in that image.
