it would save them a lot of dev time doing that, so I think they might have done it

I think reusing the overworld is less forgivable then reusing the assets

its like if MM was the same overworld, but all new assets

would not be as good

I think they are more likely to make a collection pack console for 2d games yeah

I think with 3d games, they are more inclined to go the mario superstar collection route

and just pack them as a port and resell

I think a lot of n64 games are big enough to justify reselling
