school is a 10 minute walk away
and my sister takes the bus to a farther school because she has behavioral issues
trust me, I still laugh at little kids with $1,000 smartphones
but if they don't have anything
I laught at kids with phones in general
I'd feel like the parents are forcing some weird belief on them
I think its stupid
you don't need one
literally every one of your peers in school has one
you don't need one to play Genshin impact
you need one to be connected with your world
maybe the US is different, I don't think its even past 50% of primary school students
who have phones
same shit with computers
a "family computer" is not enough
kids in America are rightly getting phones before age 5-6
see thats just maddening to me. Just get them a tablet
they can't call people on a tablet
nor can they network with friends
they don't need to make calls
at age 5
why the fuck don't they?
spooky just because you want to call a 5 year old
does not mean they should
true reggie, but still
if we time travel back to the 90s, you're right they don't need phones
they still don't need them now
you are just wrong
that's just it though, if you can't interface with other kids your age
because your parents are anti-phone fags
it just fucks you up
you can its called going to school and talking to people
you fucking antisocial retard
what do you think kids do outside of school Pika
play on their computers/tablets
if you think they should be sequestered from teh interenet until they're teenagers
that's fine
but I don't
I am not saying no internet
I am saying they do not need a phone specifically
so why no phone then?
because there is no reason why they need a phone. At home you can do everything you want from a computer
in person you can do it in person
but what are you protecting them from Pika?
that's what I don't get
a phone is way, way cheaper than a home pc/tablet
nothing. I do not believe you need to give children access to a lot of things
and it has the added benefit of letting you give your kid independence
despite those things not being harmful
I have this same discussion with parents who won't leave their kids home alone unsupervised
