I just think the pairings in FE3 are funny because they are never explained anywhere, it's never told that they exist, it just kinda happens for specific units based on the story.

I really should try Fates, last time I attempted to play a FE game I think it was Shadow Dragon on my phone since I had a long flight
the story is awful

it's incredibly complex in what you can do
the unit options, the economy, marriage and friendship reclassing, the actual reclassing options, weapon rank, captured units actually being good

basically, when you hit an enemy it treats your damage versus the hp it would have if scaled to your level, then takes away whatever % of the total health that would be, so the level 30 and level 100 are arguably doing the same amount to the enemy assuming they have proportionately appropriate gear for their levels

I believe this analysis based on me and Polu playing. I did a lot of solo grinding and am probably like 40 levels ahead of him, but it never felt like we were doing different amounts of contribution to the stages

because then you can have the "getting stronger" with the scaling, by having something ignoring scaling you still make your strength self apparent

Singleplayer outscales you anyways, since after you beat all the game content there is just an endless procedurally generated mode that you cannot scale your damage to do forever anyways

you have your normal progression and then the horizantal progression is like every once and a while you get one point to spend in a massive webbed tree thats like 1% more damage, 2% defense
