Hell yeah, I played 3 nintendo games this year
I played a ton of games this year, just not many switch games since not much has come out that I wanted
Gee, I wonder why I played a lot of games in Jan/July and nothing else

Beat the game, I forgot how short the game was (if you just do one route)
I am curious what improvements they can add to the port other than higher frame rate. It has an option for gyro controls, but it is not implemented yet

How do you all expect the switch 2 launch will go?

depends on their launch windows
Switch 2 will be the "fastest selling console ever!1!1!" which is a meaningless stat
Yeah
Will likely perform under Nintendo projections but still wildly successful,
I also somewhat think it'll have the WiiU problem, where if it's called "Switch 2", and is 100% backwards compatible, and most launch window games are also playable on the Switch at lower resolution or w/e
it'll not have the mindshare of bieng a "new console" as much
which tbf, is sorta acurate
I don't think the Switch2 is going to be anything more than everyone thinks it will be, and leaks suggest it is
it is going to be a slightly more powerful Switch 1, with a better default screen and better controllers
they'll use AMD/Nvidia hardware upscaling and their own existing performance scaling in Switch games, to make everything run a bit better or look a bit better
they'll restrict some bigger games to be "Switch 2 exclusive"
but this console was meant to come out in 2020/2021
delaying it 4 years and not just scrapping it and starting over was a dumb decision
I also think Nintendo really missed the mark getting into mobile gaming and making all these investments, but never really building it up to be anything more than a sideshow
I still think the future of Nintendo is a closed ecosystem streaming-first software service
a successful version of what Microsoft is trying desperately to do today
Yeah I'm sort of coming around to the fact it might sell a good bit worse than nintendo is hoping
The coming out four years late is big, there's a question as to how much more powerful it'll really be than the original and also it doesn't really distinguish itself from switch 1 a lot. Imo making the joycons different could have gone a long way
