Can anyone here say anything nice about Ultra Sun/Moon. My friends been trying to get me to play it, but it seems like everyone dislikes these games a lot.

the games are fine but the cutscenes are annoying

It is probably better than sun/moon considering those games were unplayably bad

alola has some actual difficulty in the totem fights

I never finished the first island in moon, I was not enjoying it

I liked Alolan variants aswell when I saw them. I just haven't heard much praise for it and I heard it was the gen that had moves 1 shotting through protect

z moves did like 1/4 damage through protect

I stopped after X and Y actually, at least for 3d

Ok I wasn't sure if the OHKO stuff was simply propaganda or some very niche situation being used to shit on z moves

I only finished X and Y years later to get national dex progress for ORAS

I like the remakes

that is the only good post X/Y thing

I like the diamond and pearl remakes more than the games that came out from that era too, even if they are by far the worst remakes

What I never understood is why remake ORAS and not remake Emerald. I heard Gen 4 remakes weren't good which is a shame as it's my personal favorite

Gen 4 remakes were lazy which was their biggest sin

the previous 3 gens remakes were essentially complete reworks of the game they were remaking

gen 4 remakes were thrown to a competent studio then they made a terrible product so there has to be some gamefreak meddling in there

gen 4 was essentially a 1 to 1 remake with a couple new things

I still think fire red and heartgold are some of the peak of pokemon

the only game that I think comes close from non remakes is original gen 3

post X/Y was the beginning of the lazy era, it just gets worse with each release

scarlet violet aren't really lazy, just very rushed

That's when I checked out of the series for awhile, but I have been considering picking up Sc/Vl

They need to just faithfully remaster colosseum

I think Gen 3 was definitely the peak, but I like gen 4 despite its flaws.

I never got into gen 4, I only ever finished it for the first time with the remakes

I also did not play pearl

I do not play mid gen release games

no emerald, no pearl, no explorers of sky

I'm surprised you haven't played emerald, definitely one of the good definitive releases

I get the game when it comes out, I am not buying a slightly different copy of the same game

Same reason I refuse to buy mario kart 8 on switch
