I think what I have to do for the streams is get 2, 8TB SATA SSDs
general

and just pool them
hence, why I haven't done it
speed
you know what, that's fair Regi
I could test with some of my drives
and see what the hit is
PeerTube doesn't like local-remote mountpoints is my main problem
So I'll need another drive for the streams either way
and since it won't be an array, or will be a 1-2 drive array
(this is all unrelated to why the site is offline fyi)
I'd still want to test that performance
especially when you have multiple users pulling off that drive
Sata SSD fixes that for sure
it's on my list of things to add eventually
next time I'll try not to get sick the say after I make hardware changes
6mb/s
probably a bit lower once they've been HLSafied
Regi, do you know what I run that server on, I have 4 RAID0 gen4 NVMEs
it's actually a sick setup
granted, I split that between all my self-host shit rn
but most of that takes nothing
and uh, I might actually be able to get all these streams on one 8TB SSD
that'd be worth it, just to save the headache
yes they are
oh wait
I'm retarded
no, I just plugged them into the wrong program
instead of mediainfo
I was just being lazy and assuming this mp3tag output was right
yeah it's 0.6mb/s
the bitrate is 6k
audio bitrate is low
the average bitrate is 6163
for this 16GB, 6 hour stream
audio is 160 though
no idea
they might do an optimization run on vods
for static frames
and Rob has a lot of those
I think it would make my life easier
when I eventually do it
I have a list of computer upgrades, it's not first on my list
I need another pair of 16TB red Pros for my main NAS
at some point I want to go to 10gig networking
And then I want to buy a stack of ubqiuiti gear
but they keep fucking up their product line
