someone tell rusp to look into that kapps
Hey, wondering if someone can help me with something: Recently, my computer started not playing audio for like the first second of video/audio files, be it on a web player, on a media player on my computer, et al. I'm guessing this is a codec issue, but I'm not really sure to word it in a Google search. Anyone familiar with this?
have you tried it with different audio devices
so speakers builtin speakers headphones etc
also try updating audio drivers maybe
and if usb audio does it as well
Replying to reorruatrnte #toughbrook have you tried it with different audio devices
It happens with both the television and the headset.
is it every type of audio, even if you run a midi with the microsoft software synth?
also is it actually from starting playing something or is it going from no sound to sound
like if you have something playing then start something else is there a delay then
Sorry, forgot to check back here. I haven't tried it in depth, but it's with MP3s, MP4s, FLVs, WEBMs, not sure what else I've used. It doesn't always happen, and it's going from no sound to sound. Like, if open a Youtube video and hit "Play," I sometimes won't get audio for the first second. If I jump back to the beginning of the video, I can hear it fine. Same in VLC, same with MP3s in Musicbee, etc.
ok here is my genius solution
have 50 cent's in da club playing on loop but at an essentially inaudible volume, at all times
so you always have sound andn ever get the problem
Spooky had to take it down for upgrades
then got ill
okie
rip spooky
wait, did HE get ill, or the server? >_>
spooky is sick
and twisted
but also ill
I got not covid
it's not covid because I didn't get tested
but yeah, I've just not had the energy to get everything put back together and get it back online
This weekend prob

feel better.
I am about to have over 40 TB or storage on a debian server (I got a good deal on 16TB drives) so I may be able to mirror it?
it's not webtorrent based, it's all direct HLS streams afik Mint
and yeah, I really feel bad that it's down, I've gotten a lot of DMs about it
there is a built-in way to mirror the site, if you just want your own copy of it (once it's back up)
or I could just setup a torrent of all my master copies
I think the total site size isn't even that big, just a few TB
Rob's stream archives 2018-Present are the real space hogs
I think all-in that's like 12TB
which is why I never got them up on Rawb.art
I think what I have to do for the streams is get 2, 8TB SATA SSDs
and just pool them
hence, why I haven't done it
speed
you know what, that's fair Regi
I could test with some of my drives
and see what the hit is
PeerTube doesn't like local-remote mountpoints is my main problem
So I'll need another drive for the streams either way
and since it won't be an array, or will be a 1-2 drive array
(this is all unrelated to why the site is offline fyi)
I'd still want to test that performance
especially when you have multiple users pulling off that drive
Sata SSD fixes that for sure
it's on my list of things to add eventually
