It's really difficult for me to be able to get my room in better order because of location of power outlets, wiring already set up in the room, etc.

it would have probably became necessary if we let this garage build up
Would it be like when the Chandler house went up in flames because there was so much clutter that an extension cord from one room to other got frayed and friction igniting it caused everything to burn?
