Serious questions for Canadians in here: If you're an independent contractor, and your profession is something extremely strenuous on your body, to the point you blow out your knees three times(one knee once, both knees at the same time another time) in less than three years, what is your healthcare like for that?
oh question about healthcare in canada?
you should ask dolfin
Cuz an American Average Joe saying "American health sucks" is one thing, but when you have a D-Tier popularity indie pro wrestler who has three knee injuries between both knees in less than 3 years saying "American healthcare sucks," I don't think you'll be doing much better elsewhere at that point. Maybe a little better, but not significantly.
Canadian health care in general is the following
is it essential you go in right this second? You will get in fine, and its low cost
is it less important? Waitlist
Did you just tear it? Probably immediate care
well
astrix on that
there is private hospitals
probably paying about the same as an american one
In the US, this is much more a problem that pro wrestlers are legally considered independent contractors, rather than employees - which is fine for most companies besides WWE(where they have massive control over not just your work life, but many aspects of your life) - but pro wrestlers pretty much worldwide are independent contractors, so that's more of a reason why they don't get any health insurance from whatever promotion they're working for.
Because I don't think most promotions where you're wrestling in a gym in front of 50 people, getting paid with a hotdog and a handshake(not a euphemism; you can actually be paid with just a free hotdog and a handshake for a good match) can afford to pay health insurance for wrestlers that may blow out their knee every 8 months
