other then zyton and spooky
i forget when i actually joined, i think late end of pokemon
what i remember being biggest was lom and buffalo wizards
Replying to Spooky Phijkchu #spooky.131 but yeah, Rob went off the rails in 2018/2019
I saw the video where he essentially said "I need $12k a month or URealms Live is gone, btw give it to these random people you've never heard of may not have any interest in," then I heard he raged when people donated only $2k on the first stream he was doing the Digital Bards thing on, expecting people to toss $20k like they did with a Urealms Live show at someone they've never seen.
oh ok, yeah you did see the midlife crisis stream
*mental breakdown
it was 12k after his artists told him to take them off the pool
so he lowered it to remove how much he said he would pay them
since he made that video without informing anyone
I still miss !tired
he's streaming Gartic phone rn
@Phijkchu_Pikachu
he'll get to it later

I'll give the only defense for Rob that I think is fair
he was clearly having a complete and total mental breakdown during that whole thing
lot of poor decisions
There's a lot of added lore and speculation
from that time period
Like, Unforgotten Realms getting canned after the DVDs and T-shirts that took months to produce, there probably wasn't enough people buying to continue making it, and I had (and still have) no idea how monetization on blip worked then to think it was a scam. Unforgotten Quest felt like a scam after several years, but then I remembered that he was keeping a blog about it(though not often updated), and you could see a downward spiral from trying to make a game he had absolutely no idea how to actually make
I don't think Rob ever really scammed people, but with Urealms S3/S4 he needed so much money to keep things going that it was unreasonable
He would have benefited from someone to keep him grounded in reality
Like Krysta did
yeah
we've been talking about this a fair bit recently
Rob's career online is a giant comedy of errors
and I think that gets to you at a certain point
There was no way it wouldn't
him not taking on sponsors for URL, relying only on a shrinking fan suppot base, while also trying to grow it each season, and wanting to sustain everything on one season of that show a year
yeah
it's just sad hoestly
Rob is or was a funny talented guy, but it's kind of all just gone off the rails
