also as rusp said, Canada has 3 main parties, and Bloc Quebecois steals like half the Quebec votes

Conservatives got the most overall votes because Alberta votes conservative 80-90%

wheras libs won their seats on 55-65% margins

If I had to guess, NDP took like 15% of the totoal, Bloc quebecois took another 10%, Conservatives got like 35%, People's party and green probably add up to the rest

Also specifically, The current government is called a minority government. This is because Trudeau is black The party has enough seats that no other party has more seats than it, but it does not have a majority of the seats

This basically is equivalent to the US when the house/senate/supreme court is like 50/50 Dems and republicans
