ohio is the south

I mean mint
DC is the southernmost, Northern city
But the South extends into Maryland, WV, PA for sure
VA is the last fully Southern state though
Arguably WV, but they were infected by Ohio a but too much, and are sorta midwest
I'd be more outraged about calling Western Texas the South tbh
It's a cultural thing Fire, there's the South, Appalachia, and the Midwest
There's a fair bit of overlap
Perfect
everywhere is the north based on which way you are looking
so only the center is the south
The Appalachian mountains
VERY different from South/midwest
Food, mannerisms, dialect, architecture, ecology
They run through West Virginia
They were a natural cutoff for culture early on, Virginia spread South rather than over Appalachia
They extend all the way to Ireland
there are also mountains in teh west
