it is chilly
its negative heat
its not "do not go out" cold
but -5 to -20 is the range where I wear a winter coat
instead of just a hoodie
also true
here in canada, we get -40 to 40
regularly
so we get the full gambit
most days fall in -30 to 30, with a few days of of the year in the extremes of both
normalize using kelvin tbh
Kappa
the nice thing is, Kelvin makes just as much sense as Celsius because it is the same scale just shifted
491.67 °R is the freezing point of water
now thats based
Fire damn you
empathy scale is you hard set 0 to 0 celcius, -15 to 0 kelvin, 501 to 100 ferenhiet, 1005 to 10 billion rankine
good luck
water is not a random liquid
which is why celcius is based
people are mostly water
its super people>content
Idk, if he keeps walking daily, that could change
Cold weather might start to matter
How much padding he has in his chair
How much support he no longer needs from a bra
I usually wear a hoodie and an unzipped winter coat until about -30 anyways
then I just zip up my coat
I like the argument about 0 to 100, but I also appreciate that a single degree Fahrenheit is perceptible
Celsius just seems less granular
I don't think it actually is, I think you just believe it is. Can you really tell the difference between a 76 day and a 77 day
My room is 70 degrees, and I will feel it when it hits 68
So that's 1-1.5 degrees
Outside, it's all about sunlight, humidity, etc.
I mean, within like 2-3 degrees celcius I can tell its coler/hotter than usual, just I can't tell you its "1 degree hotter"
2-3 degrees c is 10 real degrees
How can you barely tell
>real degrees
you meant 2-3 real degrees is 10 funnynumber degrees
anyways, because there fundementally is not that much of a difference within sub 5 degree scales
except at the extremes
difference between a 10C and a 13C day is not really all that relevant
Sure, but that's due to environmental factors
I'd care if my fridge jumped 10 degrees all of a sudden
sure but this whole talk was based on human perception of temperature
in the first place
that chart listed 0F as really cold, 100 as really hot
Yeah, and I like that part of our scale
I just outright disagree with 0F being useful at all
But the reason why I'm happy it's not mapped from -20 to 120 on the 0 to 100 scale
Is because I think the size of the step is about as small as I'd want
honestly, we should just report temperature in half degrees
Yeah
Let's go from 0 to 1
With a bunch of decimal places
oh lol I just meant
instead of saying it is 35C out say it is 35.5C out
to satisfy the "but Fahrenheit is more granular" argument
But then you've added 10 steps in between
I think the solution
Would be no decimals
