Every year, 80+% of students in my program go directly to the states after they graduate. I couldn't find anything good there except garbage startups that paid like shit by US standards, so I had to return to one of my old Canadian coops. I want to pretend that COVID is the real reason, but I feel like that's just a huge cope. I am ashamed to only make $140k CAD. I know it sounds retarded, but it's true. I can't even talk to anyone about my job without feeling inadequate and it's seriously impacting my motivation to do anything. My mom keeps telling me about her friends kids who are making $200k+. It's hard to even care about my job now because all I want to do is leave as soon as possible. I might even get fired because I just don't want to be there. Does anyone else feel like this? A group coping session would help me. This is like failing an exam and hoping the whole class failed so I can feel better.
