Karp, weren't you just arguing the other day
why we shouldn't eat some animals, like dogs
but you think bugs should be ok?
I'm not actually a vegan I just wanted to bring the point up
I'd only become vegan if they make lab grown meat tastier and afforable compared to real meat. Otherwise no
Bugs should also not be eaten if we going vegan
No I agree with Karp there
I think vegans who kill bugs are hypocrites
Lab grown meat will not be real in our lifetimes
so it doesn't matter
I think there are some exeptions
Where you have a infestation destroying your house
And have to deal with it
For bugs
it's the same with self-driving cars
they're produce interesting thought experiments
but neither are something I'll ever have to really care about
But how do you know if they lived in that land first
You know what I'm ask my vegan friend when I get a chance what they would do in that situation
I never fished before
it's funny how we also like bugs that look pretty, like ladybirds are fine
or fireflies
>nothing is that serious
oy vey
it's true as long as you ignore society, people, the world, etc.
barbary wars
cough cough
Just never be violent easy.....
or did we retcon those pirates to be "sea raiders"
piracy is a flag you fly more than it is an allegiance or affiliation
I forgot Sweden was involved with that one
people can claim it even if they aren't really pirates
was that the only time the US and Sweden were on the same side in a war?
I think they objected to us bombing Milosevic in the 90s
thgey might have been in Korea though
Pirates are complicated
pretty sure it changes a lot with the time and country
Darn ye online pirates stealing my video game booty
nope, no Swede fought in Korea
online piracy isn't really fitting for what pirates actually are as a whole, but the main ideas/ideologies are somewhat fitting
As far as I'm aware we still have real pirates to this day technically.
Not sure where in the world tho
it's pretty minimal now though
Somalia is where they got semi famous
because for a while some merchant ships had really pitiful armaments
but now Merchant marines are more common
so that kind of stopped
African-on-African piracy still happens I guess
but that shouldn't count
Pirates also can't do as much as they use to nations because now we have fast responding aircraft
the modern pirate strategy is actually very nuanced
what Karp?
no we don't
