I googled it, did not understand, so I just said I don't care this monitor looks fine
and bought it
I think the high refresh rate wil actually surprise you
how nice it looks
just scrolling on webpages and shit
I'll report back if I am impressed
I mostly just cared about size, and getting at least as good if not better specs as my current monitor
just happened to work out to being what I got
Also it actually has HDMI
my current monitor does not
so I can stop using my retarded VGA to HDMI converter setup
still have to use my VGA to USB setup on my second monitor though
I like how I accidentally bought not 1, but 2 monitors that lacked HDMI
thats how fucking retarded I am
my computer cannot do VGA and I do not own and DVI-D cables
well what kind of hdmi does your computer support
two different kinds
I have like 2 types of HDMI, DVI-D
and display port?
maybe
I have 4 types
no, of just HDMI
there are 4 or 5 types
and 3 common specs
not counting ARCs
I have two different types of HDMI, not sure what the other one is, the main one is the common one I see everywhere
if it' a 2.0 or 2.1 you should be fine
but if it's a 1.4b you might have problems
since that caps out at 120 or 144, can't remember which
well if it does not work I will curse my life
2.0a might not work either
I am just going to assume whatever the fuck I am running works for it
2.0b will though
and 2.1 is super new
I bought my pc like 3? 4? years back now
its probably whatever the newest thing then was
1.4 is a 2010 spec
2.0 is 2015
2.1 is 2017
idk about the revisions
you're probably fine
probably
its a g a m i n g pc
so it should support it Kappa
what's funny is it would support 4k just fine, but they artificially limited refresh rate support to as high as they thought people would go
until 2.1 where they just said "fuck it" and uncapped it essentially
Is there a work around if it does not support it?
or am I just fucked and have to return it and find a new one
legacy mode will work, so it will work to some capacity
I think you'll probably be fine
I doubt they'd ship a monitor that would just fuck over everyone with 4 year old PCs
are the port shapes noticeably different
ports all look identical
fantastic
they're electrically different
let me see if I can find my computer since its a prebuilt
wait Pika
idk why you're doing this, I can just tell you in an instant
you're fine
Nvidia GPUs have been up to spec for the last 3 generations
Holy fuck I miscounted lmao
Oh nvm
thats USB
lmao
It said I had 6 lol
Okay
Because I can't find out what port I have
so I will just trust that I can use it
like I said
last 3 generations
are fine
I looked it up
I just found this chart
I think its a 1080p monitor
