I am here today, as are you, to find the love of my life ideally. Now, I am an introspective and reflective man so over my life I've come to realise exactly what I'm looking for in my ideal woman. Personally, I am 22 years old, my name is Perseus, I am attending U of T in the final year of my Engineering degree, and I am a little on the chubby side. I am a dedicated Green party voter and staunchly opposed to the Conservative hordes dashing themselves against the impregnable Liberal/NDP/Green keep of our fine enlightened city. I am fond of discussing philosophy and the meaning of life over a glass of wine in the 'even. As hobbies go, I am an avid gamer and enjoy delving into the myriad artistic realities of animè (the origin of my affinity for Asian culture, which is frankly superior). You MUST fulfill the following requirements:
  • Asian
  • Woman
  • Aged NO MORE THAN 23
  • - and NO LESS THAN 16
  • Petite build. Ideally no more than 115 lbs.
  • - but not 'Paris Hilton' bulimics please! I like my women with some meat on them
  • Like sushi, animè, and video games. BONUSES include:
  • Japanese heritage
  • Large collection of animè and manga
  • Glasses
  • Interest in cosply and roleplaying
  • Traditional Ladies' education I must stress again that this is for SERIOUS, long term relationship. Not some 'fling' as though I were a boy toy to be tossed aside.****

This entire semester me and about 100ish kids have been in a groupchat and discord (anonymous we don’t know each other) and have been acing this course through cheating. This isn’t the confession bit, the confession bit is that some of the old tas and current ones have been helping us (Also anonymous) do all the quizzes, assignments, midterm and even the collaborative assignment (which I didn’t cheat on). They have also been deferring us to dedicated tutors who have been writing some of our stuff. We have the same thing planned for the final exam, and honestly I feel so bad about this and feel like a completely shitty person. I don’t know how to report any of this, as I will get in trouble, and the people are anonymous (except the tutoring people they have been deferring us to but they don’t even go here). I would not be surprised if this is happening for other courses, because in my other courses I have the same arrangement. I feel completely shitty knowing I am getting 90s-100s by cheating this way. The tutor I had said he wrote 4 midterms and his colleagues have written more. I am saying this because of how bad I feel and so the teachers can have an understanding of what is going on. I have no idea how to report this.

"Unfortunate" doesn't begin to describe my series, this game rewards blind luck and nothing else, I am beyond convinced at this point. After getting completely tooled by scheduling with my opponent changing times on me last minute and refusing to provide confirmation prior to the day of the match as to play times, losing this way somehow felt even worse than I had thought possible. My preparation was superior, my play was superior, and I lost, so I don't see a reason to continue engaging in an activity where what is within my control is overwhelmingly outweighed by what is not. I am done with competitive Pokemon, and you won't get a fond farewell. This community is infected to its roots with a degenerative disease that grows stronger over time but stops short of killing its host. Tournaments used to have a competitive spirit at their heart, this has been transplanted and replaced with an artificial organ that feeds on vitriol and mockery from insecure little boys that heckle by the sidelines and tear each other to shreds over scraps of attention. The environment we fostered has trapped us all like this in a vicious cycle, and escaping it requires acceptance of the harshest reality we all scramble to explain away, that none of the countless straining efforts we put ourselves through here will ever amount to one single shining glimmer of significance. I would make this the end, but World Cup is still ongoing, and I would never leave so many great friends out to dry, so I'll suffer through a few more games for them.

One last thing before I leave you all to react with disdain, ridicule, and self-righteous fervor, before you do everything in your power to minimize my words and thoughts, box them up and shove them to some cobwebbed corner of your memory, and hope they disappear forever as a stain on your finite time ground to dust. From this moment on, nothing you say matters to me. The foulest insults you hurl with intent to wound will calmly settle at the earth before my feet, and the venom you spit will bring all the pain of a warm summer breeze. You are less than anything you can conceive, while I carry on, brimming with joy distilled from detachment.

"Five cars were in front of me in the drive-through at my local McDonald’s, not counting the three or four idling in the waiting area of the parking lot."

but like, I don't know what's worse going to school for this, landing a job at a "top" national paper and then having to write shit like this instead of doing something real

The McRib belongs to another era, when manufacturing and technology were thought to be the solutions to many of our problems. (Some still think that way, of course.) We have spent years now trying to undo the damage of products like this, seeking out whole ingredients and foods that our grandparents would have considered suitable for the table. There’s no reason to keep idolizing an old god just because it knows how to satisfy our cravings for salt, sugar and fat.
