But it was more because of knowing how chord progressions work than hearing it

you can kinda guess if you hear where the one's are what the other stuff is

bass line is easy to pick out and tonic is easy to pick out

and its slower with fewer notes

For questions 1 and 2 it always ended on the tonic with a note worth half the measure so it was usually pretty easy to get atleast three points

That was usually the strategy though yeah, and if you could get that and hear the major/minor and stuff you could use it to guess the soprano pretty well if you couldnt hear it

tbh i kinda hate how most highschools do music for the most part now, my school's like the only one around that cares about theory and its because we emphasize jazz over marching band
