it just works
Replying to Pyrrhic #swiss_army_cheese Since when did you guys start measuring tempreture in centergrate?
I just kept searching "70 f to c" just so I could have the same conversation with everyone. I do Fahrenheit and I like it more than Celsius, but I know non-Americans use Celsius
I always talk in celcius
because I like being an asshole to the mostly american audience of this server
celcius is just talking in kelvin with an offset
I can convert to kelvin in the future I guess
man, this 303.15 weather is nuXs
I like Kelvin (physics background), I like celcius
F is insane and only incorrect nations use it
There is not a single compelling argument I've heard
All units of measurement have been properly defined rigorously now
the last one to fall was the kg, which used to be a physical weight stored in a lab, but was finally rigourously defined
So is imperial
except now imperial is defined in terms of metric
because metric won as the more useful system
Replying to Phijkchu_Pikachu #klombak except now imperial is defined in terms of metric
I’ve always thought this was funny.
I mean, you want the actual hecking based take
c=h=1
speed of light is 1 (unitless), hiesenbergs constant is 1 (unitless)
under this system, length = speed = inverse mass = inverse energy
this is the theoretical physics system
(if we really did design out choices to make sense, the definition of a meter would be based on the speed of light with a round number to begin with)
(same with time)
so both imperial and metric are infact arbitrary and less useful than just redesigning everything, but at this point there is zero reason to redesign everything
Effectively how time and distance is defined already
I like how because of our fucked choices, the rigourous definition of units is just funny
Kribbles, are you back on the best coast yet
or are you still in-transit
Could be worse
could be Ohio

Unless you want to tell me you pronounce EV as "eh-v"
Replying to heir #hyrrulfr wouldn't the American outback be like around the grand canyon?
It's a steakout
