Hence "I do not go out"
Well, my apartment doesn't
but my family home does
Air conditioning would cost me 200 more per month in rent as a fee for the luxury of installing it, so I just have some cooling tower fans
(also I'd have to buy my own air conditioner on top of that)
Its not even really the heat that sucks, its humid heat that kills you
(which is what it is here)
It is specifically in my rental agreement, and they slide a paper under your door at the start of summer every year reminding you that you have to pay during the summer if you are going to instal one
its honestly not super needed, I am fine 95% of the time with just my fans
Electric no
water and heat yes
Replying to Kribbles #kribbles1 You can handle 40C indoors with just fans? (edited)
I've not had any 40C days in Kingston
Kitchener hits 40C, I think the hottest we've gotten here the 2 years I've been here is 30C
I can manage fine enough, and if I really start dying I guess I can go hang out in my buildings pool
I am intimately aware of the temperature in Tokyo constantly because every time I talk with Pix she brings it up and asks how it is for me
She has not been streaming much lately, she has had back pain
Its also right on the ocean so its humid hot
I assume
Yeah, Kingston is usually around 90-98% humidity and 30 during the summer
it fucking sucks
Its only really bad in August though usually
I can do that weather
75% humidity is fine
That is what Kitchener is in the summer
the jump from 70s to 90s in humidity fucking sucks
I am sure 5 to 70s sucks a lot for you though
Maybe I just kill myself, then I don't have to do my work I have been putting off
and no summer heat
I have two AC units for the streamer house, and even they'll struggle when it's 105-110
not splits, full units
I should probably have bought fancier triple-pane windows
but in my experience, those only last a couple years anyway before the Argon escapes
