but idk what normal US temperatures in northern states is
40 is a few times a year temperature in southern ontario, usually its moreso around 30
That would make sense based on proximity to me
I do consider 40 to be dangerous heat wave weather though

Air conditioning would cost me 200 more per month in rent as a fee for the luxury of installing it, so I just have some cooling tower fans

It is specifically in my rental agreement, and they slide a paper under your door at the start of summer every year reminding you that you have to pay during the summer if you are going to instal one
